Budo Experience is a platform dedicated to creating opportunities for meaningful encounters, cultural exchange, and learning through Japanese martial arts—especially kendo—across borders.
In 2024, over 60 countries participated in the World Kendo Championship, marking a record high.
Kendo is now becoming a bridge that connects people around the world through both culture and language.
In response to this growing global interest, we offer a variety of programs and initiatives that connect Japan with the world, including kendo experiences, international exchange events, and cultural content.
■ Kendo Experiences & Seminars
We organize beginner-friendly kendo experience programs, primarily held at Yokohama Budokan.
For experienced practitioners, we coordinate special seminars and private lessons led by high-ranking Japanese instructors.
■ Corporate Training Programs
Through kendo-based workshops—including etiquette, spirit, and basic techniques—we offer training programs designed to cultivate a Japanese mindset and cultural awareness.
We also provide tailored workshops for companies involved in inbound business and cross-cultural engagement.
■ Local Exchange Program (English × Kendo)
We periodically host English-language kendo classes for elementary and junior high school students, inviting foreign kendo practitioners as guest instructors.
These sessions provide a unique opportunity for children to enhance their language skills, deepen intercultural understanding, and improve their kendo technique—all at once.
■ Cultural Media & Storie
We regularly publish interviews and field reports featuring kendo seminars, dojos, and related cultural experiences both in Japan and abroad.
These articles serve as immersive cultural narratives, capturing voices from the field and sharing the rich context behind Japanese martial arts.
